On March 11, the MODIS and VIIRS Characterization Support Teams hosted a successful day-long calibration workshop at Goddard. Members of MCST/VCST gave the status of MODIS and VIIRS instrument performance, and recent updates on radiometric and geometric calibration. Member of the MODIS science team and other community members also presented recent updates to their data products and evaluations of the calibration performance. In total there were 21 speakers and about 50 total attendees (in-person plus virtual).

On September 12, 2023, MCST held a meeting with Atmosphere discipline representatives to discuss results from the initial C7 science data tests. The meeting focused on calibration changes made in C7 for the Terra reflective solar bands and how these changes affected the various Atmosphere products. 

The MODIS/VIIRS 2019 Science Team Meeting was held November 18-21, 2019 at the The Hotel in College Park, MD. As part of the Science Team Meeting, MCST and VCST hosted a Calibration Workshop.

The MODIS TEBs (20-25 and 27-30) for both Aqua and Terra show signs of electronic crosstalk.  This contamination can have an impact on Earth-view imagery.  A correction to the contamination can be derived from lunar imagery, and has been applied to Terra bands 27-30 in Collection 6.1.  The same methodology can be applied across each affected band in both Aqua and Terra MODIS.  We will assess the impact on Earth-view imagery for each of the remaining bands in Aqua and Terra MODIS.    

After MCST delivered C6.1 LUT for Aqua and Terra MODIS, meeting to discuss the L1B reprocess with representatives from Land, OBPG, LDOPE, deep-blue, and aerosols. Included discussion on cross-calibration and polarization correction.

MCST organized a meeting with land/atmosphere/ocean discipline representatives to discuss the implementation of Aqua bands 1-4 EV-based RVS in forward C6 production (2016/06/29)
