This month's remaining calibration activities will also include an SD/SDSM activity.

Maneuvers:

There will not be a MODIS Lunar Calibration at the beginning or end of April because the required roll angle will exceed the allowable limit. Expect the next possible MODIS Lunar Calibration toward the end of May.

The sixth Terra inclination maneuver has been postponed (originally scheduled for 4/2/2002). The new date for the maneuver is not yet known. The maneuver will only be done if it does not interfere with any Aqua spacecraft launch activities.

The Terra Deep Space Calibration Maneuver is still postponed. The maneuver date is not expected until late summer of 2002.

MODIS Anomalies:

Formatter Error Events:

The current patches loaded into the MODIS Formatter record the number of formatter error events (but not the address where they occurred). Statistics for the error rate will soon be generated and placed on the Internet. For data on the pre-safe mode error events, please see the link below.

The most recent error tracking spreadsheets can be retrieved from:

ftp://ftp.mcst.ssai.biz/pub/permanent/IOT/am1/analysis/FR_events/

An MS Excel spreadsheet called, AM1_FR_error_rollovers_current.xls contains the data for the times each error count "roll over" occurs.

General Instrument Comments:

MODIS is in A-side Science Mode.

MODIS Telemetry Trends:

All systems appear to be functioning properly. Tracking of the Formatter Error Rate has resumed.

Non-MODIS Significant Events:

The TERRA Science formatting equipment (SFE) experienced a single event upset (SEU) on Sunday, April 14, 2002. The time of failure was 104/14:00:47. The SFE was turned OFF. It was turned back on on Monday, April 15, 2002, at 105/23:02:38. No MODIS science data was captured during this time.
