This Week's Scheduled MODIS Activities Not Completed:

None

Upcoming MODIS Events:

Bi-weekly SDSM calibrations, as well as monthly radiometric calibration and bi-monthly PV ECAL, will be scheduled throughout June.

Maneuvers:

The next MODIS Lunar Calibration will be on June 29, 2002 (DOY 2002/180). The roll angle for this activity will be -15.6745 degrees.

The sixth Terra inclination maneuver has been postponed (originally scheduled for 4/2/2002). The new date for the maneuver is not yet known. The maneuver will only be done if it does not interfere with any Aqua spacecraft launch activities.

The Terra Deep Space Calibration Maneuver is still postponed. The maneuver date is not expected until late summer of 2002.

MODIS Anomalies:

On day of year 128 at 21:11, the formatter EEPROM was loaded with a one-word patch. In the event that the formatter is shut down, upon restart, this patch will prevent the formatter from resetting due to the error events.

Formatter Error Events:

The current patches loaded into the MODIS Formatter record the number of formatter error events (but not the address where they occurred). The error rate has increased significantly since the instrument safe mode recovery with an average of 350,000 errors occurring per day. For data on the error events, please see the link below.

The most recent error tracking spreadsheets can be retrieved from:

ftp://ftp.mcst.ssai.biz/pub/permanent/IOT/am1/analysis/FR_events/

An MS Excel spreadsheet called, AM1_FR_error_rollovers_current.xls contains the data for the times each error count 'roll over' occurs.

General Instrument Comments:

MODIS is in A-side Science Mode.

MODIS Telemetry Trends:

All systems appear to be functioning properly. Tracking of the Formatter Error Rate has resumed.

Non-MODIS Significant Events:
