This Week’s Scheduled MODIS Activities Not Completed:
None
Upcoming MODIS Events:
December calibrations will include bi-weekly SD/SDSM events, an SRCA Full Radiometric, and a PV Electronics Calibration.
Two new SRCA calibrations will be performed in the near future; one of these new activities will use the “backup” lamps in the SRCA Spherical Integrating Source (SIS) for the first time on orbit.
A request has been made to the Terra Flight Operations Team to perform twenty-four small-angle yaw maneuvers to characterize the MODIS Solar Diffuser. Four days of calibrations, with six maneuvers per day, are being planned and will likely be split into a pair of two-day events.
The MODIS IOT is working with the FOT to arrange dates for these calibrations that do not interfere with spacecraft or other Terra instrument activities. The first two days of maneuvers are planned for December 5th/6th 2002. The dates for the remaining two days of maneuvers have not yet been determined.

Maneuvers:
The next Terra MODIS Lunar Calibration via roll maneuver will be on December 24th, 2002 (2002/358). The roll angle will be –3.3484 degrees and the data collection period will be from 06:50:16 to 06:56:46 GMT.
The next Terra drag make-up maneuver is being planned for December 18th, 2002.
The Terra Deep Space Calibration Maneuver is still postponed.
Twenty-four small-angle yaw maneuvers are in the process of being worked to characterize the MODIS Solar Diffuser. See activity notes above.
MODIS Anomalies:
None
General Instrument Comments:
MODIS is in Science Mode, using all A-side components, but cross-strapped to Formatter B, with the blackbody maintained at 290K.
MODIS Telemetry Trends:
Nominal telemetry tracking is taking place. A slight increase in the radiative cooler intermediate stage temperature has been observed along with a decrease in the focal plane heater power usage. These telemetry points will be closely monitored for additional changes over the next several weeks.
