This Week’s Scheduled MODIS Activities Not Completed:

None

Upcoming MODIS Events:

Calibrations for March will include biweekly SDSM and monthly SRCA Full Radiometric.

Maneuvers:

There will be no Terra MODIS lunar calibration for the month of March.

MODIS Anomalies:

MCST has seen what appears to be a lamp problem on the SRCA. SRCA calibrations are on hold until further investigation completes.

General Instrument Comments:

MODIS is in Science Mode, using all A-side components, but cross-strapped to Formatter B, with the blackbody maintained at 290K and the Solar Diffuser Door at the Screened position.

MODIS Telemetry Trends:

Nominal telemetry trending is ongoing.

Non-MODIS Significant Events:

On Tuesday, March 7th (2006/066), a bad Navigation Table was loaded to Terra, due to operator error. TONS started showing an error being absorbed in Doppler measurement residuals, drag scale factor, MO frequency bias, and TDRS measurement bias. TONS was also editing out a significant amount of data. Once the cause was identified, a new table was loaded. After the table was loaded, it took many contacts for TONS to return to normal. [EM]

Preliminary MODIS results see a small increase in the mean error of about 17 m in the track direction and 37 meters in the scan direction. The track stdv also went up by about 32 m, and both the scan and track RMS went up by about 30 m to ~70m. [RW] The span for these errors should be between approximately 066/02:02- 23:01z.
