This Week’s Scheduled MODIS Activities Not Completed:

The original SRCA 1W Radiometric Continuous test was scheduled during the time of the DMU. This was inhibited to avoid any complications should an anomaly occur during the DMU.

Thursday, January 30, 2003

2003/030 20:57:23-22:56:47 MCL MOD_OA21_SRCA_1W_RAD.2 OA-21: SRCA 1W Radiometric (Continuous) Begins 5 minutes prior to S/C Night, Orbit 3956 Ends 15 minutes after S/C Night, Orbit 3957 * activity was built to include SRCA Off SCS

The “make up” of the SRCA 1W Radiometric Continuous test was scheduled incorrectly. The test should be run with the SIPD in Radiance Feedback. However, the activity was scheduled with the SIPD in Current Feedback. This activity was inhibited. A correctly scheduled SRCA 1W Radiometric Continuous test is scheduled for 2003/032.

February calibrations: biweekly SDSM, monthly SRCA Radiometric, and bimonthly PV Ecal.

A flight software patch is planned to the Control Processor CP07 mode transition table to not turn off the instrument formatter when MODIS transitions to Safe Mode.

Maneuvers:

The next Aqua MODIS Lunar Calibration via roll maneuver will be on February 12th, 2003 (2003/043). The roll angle will be -11.6949 degrees and the data collection period will be from 13:58:42 to 14:05:12 GMT.

The next Aqua drag make-up maneuver will be on January 30, 2003. The burn will be approximately 60 seconds in duration at 2003/030 21:26:30, with the slew out beginning at 2003/030 19:33:44 GMT. The S/C will return to normal attitude 2003/030 22:25:00 GMT.

The Deep Space Calibration pitch maneuver(s) have been indefinitely suspended pending mission review.

MODIS Anomalies:

Work is still underway to fix the current BST patch as well as modify the final BST patch that was nearing final review approval. This fix will solve the problem of MODIS Ground Command transactions being disabled by MODIS Stored Commands.

General Instrument Comments:

FM1 MODIS is in Science Mode. The SVD and NAD are Open, the survival heaters are enabled, and the Black Body is heated to 285 K.

MODIS Telemetry Trends:

The FM1 MODIS instrument telemetry is trending nominally. A slight increase in the radiative cooler intermediate stage temperature has been observed along with a decrease in the focal plane heater power usage. The radiative cooler temperatures has not leveled off as dramatically for the FM1 MODIS as they did for the PFM MODIS, but the intermediate stage temperature has only risen about 1 degree Celsius and the focal plane heater still has approximately 40mW of power margin remaining. These telemetry points will continue to be closely monitored.
